Description
The Garmin Nuvi 650 is a full featured Portable Navigation Device that is easy on your pocket. Garmin has stuck with the core features of the Nuvi 660 but they have removed some bells and whistles that will save you some money with the Nuvi 650. Garmin has stuck with the beautiful 4.3” large color, touch screen display with the Nuvi 650. With the larger widescreen display Garmin has not only made it easier to see, but they have increased the amount of options that are at your fingertips. The ultra sensitive 12-Channel WAAS flip up antenna will give you unmatched performance and reception. The Nuvi’s integrated Lithium Ion battery will allow you to use the 650 away from a power source for anywhere from 3-7 hours.
The Nuvi 650 is pre-loaded with the entire Mapsource City Navigator North America NT software. The City Navigator software features street level detail from Navteq for the entire United States, including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, plus all of Canada. Garmin‘s City Navigator data also includes almost 6 million points of interest, with categories ranging from restaurants, hotels, ATM’s, gas stations, shopping centers, plus many more. With the data already loaded to the Nuvi 650, all you have to do is turn it on and enter the address or point of interest that you are traveling to and let the 650 guide you there. The Garmin 650 will give you visual directions, plus verbal turn-by-turn guidance with text-to-speech commands. Text-to speech guidance will take the verbal directions on step further by not only announcing the distance and direction of your next turn but also including the name of the street that you will be turning on. This helps to keep your eyes off the Nuvi 650’s superb display and on the road ahead. If you need to view the map, Garmin gives you the ability to change between the traditional overhead view and a 3-D view of the road ahead and to chose from several different Vehicle icons.
he Nuvi 650 is compatible the optional Garmin GTM-20 traffic receiver for real time traffic information from Total Traffic Network. The Total Traffic Network traffic information is transmitted through an FM broadcast to your GTM-20 receiver allowing the Nuvi 650 to use that information and route you around any delays, including traffic jams, construction, or accidents.
